Analysis and Forecast of Global Liquid Dairy Market Consumption in 2014

In the next three years, the global demand for liquid dairy products will continue to grow. The annual compound growth rate of consumption of liquid dairy products shall grow from 2.5% between 2008 and 2011 to 2.9% between 2011 and 2014.


According to statistics, the demand for packaged liquid dairy products will steadily increase among the 2.7 billion low-income consumers in developing markets, where their consumption of dairy products will grow from about 70 billion L in 2011 to approximately 80 billion L in 2014, becoming one of the major growth points in the future dairy industry.


Lactic acid beverages, infant milk and flavored milk are expected to become the fastest-growing categories. To be more specific, the lactic acid beverages has been favored by the Asian low-income consumers with their high quality at low price, its annual compound growth rate being expected to achieve up to 11.9% between 2011 to 2014; next comes to the infant milk, whose annual compound growth rate of the same period is expected to be 9.0%. The flavored milk is also highly acclaimed for its high quality at low price with its annual compound growth rate of the same period expected to be 4.8%.
